Living Your Best Life in St. Louis Park

What does Charles Foley, the inventor of the game “Twister” have in common with the Coen brothers? They are both from St. Louis Park! They lived their best lives while they were here, and so can you.

There is something for everyone in this thriving community, where the available activities are as diverse as the people who live here.

Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden & Bird Sanctuary

The sense closest linked to memory is smell, so start making some memories at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden & Bird Sanctuary. The garden includes a 2/3 mile trail with 49 interpretive stations for guided and self-guided tours. There are vibrant displays of native wildflower in woodland, wetland, and prairie areas. Each area contains unique vegetation, wildlife, and of course—birds. Right now, the prairie area is in it’s peak display time, so go check it out while it’s at its most beautiful.

Pavek Museum of Broadcasting

The Pavek Museum of Broadcasting is a fascinating spot to tune in for the day. With over 12,000 feet of antique radios, television, and broadcast equipment, it’s a great place to learn about Minnesota’s broadcast history. With tickets priced at $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors, it’s an inexpensive trip for the whole family. Go see how media got where it is today at Pavek.

Cedar Knoll Dog Park / Dakota Dog Park

Why take your dog for a walk when other dogs can help you out? At Cedar Knoll and Dakota Dog parks, you can let your dogs play while you chat with other owners. There are drinking fountains, picnic tables, and baseball/softball fields at these off-leash dog parks.

Veterans’ Memorial Amphitheater

With its eight terraced tiers that offer seating for 300 people, the Veterans’ Memorial Amphitheater is the ideal spot to take in a summer concert. Part of Wolfe Park, the amphitheater is near Wolfe Lake and Bridge Pond, giving it a great view. Too bad there is only one more summer concert to enjoy at Veterans’ Memorial Amphitheater.
